Your tips. Your bank account. Nobody in between.
A customer taps the badge you wear, picks an amount and pays. The whole tip goes straight to you.
How it works
Tap. Tip. Done.
Three taps for them, and about six seconds. You wear the badge. They do the rest.
They tap your badge
Your TipBop page opens on their phone, with your first name and photo. Nothing downloads and there is no account to make.
They pick an amount
£5, £10, £20, or whatever they want to type.
You are paid
Apple Pay, Google Pay or a card. The money is on its way to your bank before they have put their phone away.
They do not need TipBop. You are the only one who has to have anything.
The money
£10 means £10.
Not £10 minus a cut. The fee is added on top of what they chose, so it never comes out of your tip.
They pay £10.80. TipBop's fee of 40p plus 4% is £0.80 of that, and it is added separately.
Why does the customer pay the fee?
Taking a card payment costs money, and so does sending it to your bank in minutes. Somebody has to cover it. Taking it out of your tip would mean the amount the customer chose and the amount you got were two different numbers, which is the one thing this product exists to fix. So it is added on top, shown to the customer before they pay, and never hidden.
TipBop takes nothing out of the money they meant for you, and never holds it. The payment is made to your account, not to ours.
It is yours
Your TipBop goes where you go.
The badge belongs to you, not to a venue. Change job and it keeps working: same badge, same profile, same bank account, no handover and nobody to ask.
- Restaurant today
- Bar tomorrow
- Hotel next year
- Same TipBop
The app
Every tip, right in your pocket.
Add TipBop to your home screen from the browser. There is nothing to download and no store to go through, and once it is on your home screen it can buzz your phone the moment somebody tips you.
- A buzz on every tip. You know before they have walked off.
- Your history. Every tip, every payout, every statement.
- Cash out when you want. Or leave it to send itself.
- Manage your badges. Add one, replace a lost one, switch it off.
Getting paid
Often in your bank before you get home.
Not next payday, and not at the end of the month. Tips are sent to your bank automatically, a couple of minutes after someone taps, on nights and weekends and bank holidays alike.
Also an illustration. That notification is word for word what the app sends.
Sending money that fast costs us something. It costs you nothing, and it never comes out of a tip. If your bank cannot take a payment in real time, add a debit card and it can; until then your tips come through on the daily payout instead.
The principle
Direct means direct.
Your customer tips you. The venue does not receive that payment, hold it, or pass it on. This is not a setting somebody could switch off. It is the shape of the product.

- TipBop
- The money goes into a payment account in your own name.
- It does not go through the till, a tronc, or payroll.
- Nobody shares it out. They tipped you, and you get it.
- No manager account is needed. TipBop is yours.
- TipBop never holds your money either. It goes to you, not to us.
Where you work still has a say in what you can wear and what you can do on shift. Ask before you start wearing one. The terms say the same thing, and the app carries a letter you can show them if it helps.
