Complain about how your data was handled
This page is for anyone: someone who tipped, someone who receives tips, or someone who has never used TipBop at all. "You" on this page means whoever is complaining.

What this is for
If you think TipBop has handled personal data badly, you have a right to complain about it. That right is separate from asking for something to be corrected or deleted, and using one does not use up the other.
Complaints about data go here. If you are reporting a tip page that shows the wrong person, or you have a question about a payment, the support page is the faster route.
Make a complaint
You do not need an account, and you do not need to have used TipBop. Nothing here creates an account. The address you give is used to reply to you about this complaint and for nothing else.
What TipBop does next
- Acknowledges it within 30 days. In practice a confirmation is sent as soon as the form is submitted. 30 days is the outer limit the law allows, not the target.
- Looks into it and tells you the outcome without undue delay.
- Keeps you informed while that is happening, rather than going quiet and reappearing at the end.
This is what the Data (Use and Access) Act 2025 requires, and it is written here so you can hold TipBop to it.
Going to the regulator instead, or as well
You can complain to the Information Commissioner's Office at ico.org.uk, or by phone on 0303 123 1113. You are welcome to raise it with TipBop first and the ICO will normally ask whether you have, but you do not have to wait for TipBop to finish, and nothing on this page takes that right away.
Who you are complaining to
TIPBOP LTD (company number SC900411), registered in Scotland, is the data controller and the company this complaint goes to. You can also reach it at hello@tipbop.com.
The privacy policy sets out what is stored, what is never stored, and how deletion works.
